Behind the Brand
FECC is a one-woman brand. I make all the garments myself at my home in Helsinki Finland. Making clothes is not just a job for me, it´s a way of life. I started sewing when I was a teenager and later studied to become a clothing artisan and a clothing designer. I have also learned a lot by doing my own projects, internships and working in various jobs from work wear design to sewing bespoke evening gowns.
FECC was born in 2016 from a need to use all the potential we had as designers and makers. Yes “we”. FECC was originally a collective of three designers: me, Meri Välilehto and Mari Korhonen. Together we made the first three collections, that you can see in Early Years -page. After 2017 M&M went to different directions with their careers, but still they are my trusted friends and advisors with FECC. Mari has also photographed many of FECC collections and Meri has now her own lovely brand called Merrier (check @merrierdesign in Instagram!).
So, since 2018 FECC has been my own project and I´m doing my best to create fitting, comfortable and long lasting pieces – favorite clothes.

PS. I´m often asked what FECC stands for. FECC means Fatal Error Clothing Company. When me, Meri and Mari were studying design at HAMK, we had to learn to use this pattern making computer program. The program crashed during every lesson and text "Fatal Error" appeared on the screen.
By the way, all FECC patterns are drawn by hand.
